Harley Davidson Owners’ Group (HOGs) – Delhi Chapter Ride to Support Delhi FoodBanking Network Food-A-Thon Initiative

There are shockingly still as many as 2.5 lakh households (more than 700,000 people) in Delhi NCR (National Capital Region), India, that are suffering from hunger and poor nutrition.

To respond to these pressing needs, in Delhi NCR and to mark the globally-renowned FAO World Food Day, the first ever Food-A-Thon is ongoing and this is a ground-breaking online and grassroots campaign.

"The Food-A-Thon campaign has attracted over 70,000 individuals of over 63 leading companies, schools, RWAs which are running 'food drives' across Delhi/NCR to feed into 32 feeding locations. We thank the Harley Owners Group for helping advocate and partnering for this unique initiative to get nutritional food to those that need it the most," said Kuldip Nar, Managing Director, Asia, Aidmatrix Foundation.

Scott McCallum, CEO, Aidmatrix Foundation thanked the Harley riders for the support pledged towards FoodBanking.

"I look forward to helping Delhi Food Bank and its Feeding programs to bring food to every ones plates," said Aditya Bal, renowned Chef who will cooking at feeding programs of Delhi Food Bank, as one of the many ways he will be personally involved.

"We welcomed the Harley Davidson riders at Unitech The Villas, Sector 33, Gurgaon, this morning as part of our support to the Food Banking initiative undertaken by Aidmatrix Foundation," said Tanuja Kehar, Vice President Corporate Communications, Unitech. She added, "We, at Unitech, have a strong CSR agenda and we participate in various such activities that create social, economic and environmental benefits for the communities. We look forward to support AidMatrix and the Harley Davidson riders in their future such endeavors as well."

Food Wastage Prevention, created by Kshitij Khanna, the winner of the Nokia Do Good Hackathon, anounced the partnership with Aidmatrix to power solutions for the Delhi FoodBank to be made available free of cost. The application is available for free on web and almost all platforms at the
