Multiple Tornadoes Devastate Regions of North Texas

On May 15, 10 tornadoes touched down overnight in Hood County, Texas and the surrounding areas. Six fatalities have been reported, with more than one hundred others injured from the storm. As a community member of the Texas Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD), Aidmatrix is working diligently with our local partners responding to the tornadoes to connect the various response efforts.

Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds said six people were killed when the powerful storm struck a Habitat for Humanity neighborhood in the area. There were about 120 homes in the neighborhood and most of them were destroyed, Deeds said. via CNN

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people affected by the devastating tornadoes in North Texas last night. As a resident of North Texas, we are currently reaching out to all our local partners as they assess the situation. When we have more information, we will let you all know how you can best help those affected by this disaster," stated Melis Jones, Vice President - Programs at Aidmatrix.
