Tropical Storm Isaac: Haiti Braces Itself for another Potential Devastation

A Tropical Storm warning is in place for Haiti on Friday, a country that is still in recovery from the earthquake that devastated the country in 2010. According to CNN, 12 inches of rain are forecast for some parts of the country, posing immediate danger to the more than 400,000 Haitians who are living in camps as a result of the 2010 earthquake. "These rains could cause life-threatening flash floods and mud slides," the National Hurricane Center said.

The Offices of Emergency Services, FEMA and the global relief community are standing ready to assess the damage and begin the recovery process.

As always, cash donations are preferred by the relief agencies so they can acquire the precise materials needed. Click here to learn more about how to help
